I scared myself and DH to death last night. I took another CB digi to see if it had jumped to 3+ yet. Not only had it not jumped, it actually dropped to 1-2. So, I figured I should temper my expectations. DH ran to the store to get more so that we could retest to make sure it wasn't the test. The retest came back at 2-3. I'm still fearful since I should be solidly in the 2-3 week range, but hopefully there was something wrong with that first test. I did it midstream rather than in a cup. Could that matter? I am hopeful that everything is still going fine and that my ultrasound a week from today will be fine, too.

I took this test yesterday and it suggests my beta is over 200!

Also, DH told so many people about the pregnancy that I had to tell my supervisors about it to avoid them learning about it second hand. I hate having told people so early just in case.

I've had significant headaches the past 3-4 nights. It really sucks! Having said that, I scared myself to death yesterday after reading someone's post about blighted ovum. So, the headache last night was a not so gentle reminder that my hormones are still surging and I read that doubling rate begins to slow/stop in BO cases. So, I took an IC today (bottom). Thank heavens it looks darker than yesterday (top). Else I would've worked myself up into a frenzy. Fortunately, I only have 1-2 ICs left. No doubt my hcg levels are starting to max out the test. I AM going to get a couple of clear blue digits on Friday to see them say 2-3 weeks! Then, I should get a 3+ weeks the day of my US or so.

Gender Prediction

I found a gender prediction test called Ramzi's theory that is based on which side the placenta attached to which can be detected on the 6 week ultrasound. BETA!

Beta - 46! That's a doubling time of 1.8 days. I'll take it! I'm so excited. I just changed my status on babyandbump from TTC to Expecting.

Beta Draw

The phlebotomist this morning put me in a really good mood. 

First, she told me that she went through almost the exact same thing. She tried and tried to get pregnant, sought medical intervention, eventually had a failed IVF cycle (fortunately, I didn't get quite that far), then the next month she ended up pregnant naturally. 

Then, she told me that the RN would call me in ASAP with the results but that I should expect to come back in 2 weeks for baby's first ultrasound!

Our Baby This Week

I don't even know what to do with myself this is so exciting. Our baby's heart will start beating this week! 

12 DPO Tests

FRER and clear blue at 12 DPO. It's a little lighter than I'd like to see since I should have an hcg of 20 or higher.

Pregnancy Test comparison

Today's test. I can't tell if it's getting darker. On the upside, someone shared a cool doubling calculator with me. http://www.babymed.com/tools/hcg-calculator. It shows that if I double correctly, my hcg will be spot on average!

Beta Results

9.9 HCG. So, confirmed early pregnancy. I'm so nervous about the low number, but everyone says as long as it doubles appropriately there is nothing to be concerned about. I go back in on Friday for another beta to check doubling rate. Here is the doubling rate chart.

Unknown Next Step

Someone asked me some questions on a TTC thread and it made me realize that I'd jumped the gun with my last post. So, here's the clarification.

DH is okay with donor sperm but of course we will figure out what's going on with him before we go that route. I would love to have a bio child with him. I just don't know how much of an option that's going to be. DH has had 2 SA in the past 2 months. One showed low count. (Morphism and motility were fine). Now this one shows terrible morphism. So, I'm really confused. Obviously, I won't know our next step until we talk to the RE Monday. And maybe even not until they do additional testing on DH to figure out what's going on with him. When I said our next step would probably be donor IUI, I was just guessing what our next step will be based on partial information, and I probably shouldn't have done that. I was just devastated by the results.

RE called today with DHs SA results. I won't know more until Monday but morphology is 1%.

I suspect that we will be moving on to donor IUI, but we will know more Monday.
